WOOLWORX
Wool Warms in Winter and Cools in Summer
Wool is a double edged sword doubling as an efficient insulator in the Winter keeping warmth in the living space and in the summer it acts to keep the extremes of summer heat out. It out performs other fibres as an air conditioner
Wool Absorbs Toxins
Wool, unlike any other fibre, has the ability to absorb toxins from its enviroment. For ceilings with ventilation systems extracting air from the ceiling cavity, this is an added bonus. Wool is a healthy alternative and is itself non-toxic and safe to breathe.
Downlights
New Zealand has been installing vented downlights for 40 years to the detriment of heat retention in the living space. These lights required ventilation to keep the bulbs cool and, so acted as little chimneys to the ceiling space. Completely sealed LEDs are now available as seen here. They are cost effective and last 25 times longer. In most cases insulation can be placed directly on top of the LEDs providing an uninterrupted insulation barrier. Shop around the LEDs are now a lot cheaper
Installing System
We use an efficient blowing system which conditions the wool as it lays the wool in a seamless blanket to the ceiling area. It is run through 35 metres of plastic hosing, which is clean and leaves no mess
